2021 – present Represented artist Galleria Valeria Bella, Milan Production and exhibition of author photography projects in gallery shows and art fairs. First exhibition with the gallery: Inside things, Milan, 2021; then Un luogo bello at The Phair, Turin, 2022; Drive-in, Milan, 2023; Paris Photo, Paris, 2024.
2007 – present Photographer, founder Alessandro Mallamaci Studio Photographic and video reportage; communication consultancy for companies.
2025 Photographer, research contract Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, Department of Architecture and Design Six-month professional contract (12 June – 12 December 2025), scientific sector 08/CEAR-09 (formerly ICAR/14), within the PRIN 2022 PNRR project Confiscated Assets in Transition: from the Anti-city to the Third Heritage (P20224XL2H_001, CUP C53D23008560001), principal investigator Rosa Marina Tornatora. Won by public comparative selection, call 09/dAeD/2025, ranked first of the two appointees, 98/100. High-level technical and scientific collaboration on photographic elaborations across milestones 3 to 6 — survey and interviews, community workshops, visual analysis, narrative archive, co-design, dissemination. Delivered work (A.3.3 Visual Analysis): photographic documentation, on the ground and by drone, of ten confiscated properties along the SS106 in the municipality of Reggio Calabria, read against their geography of waterways, airport and the Strait; editing and the graphic layout proposal for the paper published with the project’s findings.
2023–2026 Administrative manager Regione Calabria Special unit of the Department for the Environment, State Holdings, Unitary Programming and Strategic Projects. Curated the commemoration of the Cutro shipwreck; photographic and video reportage and graphic design; wrote the unit’s operating manual; ran the S.I.R.D. (integrated management reporting system) and started the design of its new version, meant to link departments and show each director’s assignments on an automatically generated Gantt chart; minutes of meetings, staff training and management, office organisation. March 2023 – February 2026.

2014–2019 Founder, coordinator and printer Stampafineart.net Fine art printing laboratory. Post-production and museum-quality printing for authors, galleries and photography festivals.
2013–2019 Founder, president and director Il cerchio dell’immagine, Reggio Calabria Cultural association and photography education centre, founded in 2013 on the occasion of the festival La misura del paesaggio. Ran the organisation for six years: two photography festivals — La misura del paesaggio (2013) and Photopia (2016) — the three-year School of Specialisation in Professional Photography (2015–2018), a programme of foundation courses, and talks and workshops with established international figures in documentary photography, book design, post-production and fine-art printing, including Donald Weber, Massimo Mastrorillo, Filippo Romano, Federico Clavarino, 3/3, Marco Olivotto and Tommaso Bonaventura. 2013–2014 Videomaker Vlisco, Netherlands Documentary video on Vlisco for Africa, a tailoring school for women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

2009 Founder and member of the artistic direction SISMI Eventi | Vibrazioni | Movimenti, Reggio Calabria Cultural association. Co-founded the association and, as part of its artistic direction team, organised ReggioFotoGrafia (2009).
2007–2019 Founder and director Servizifotografici.net, later SF Storie, Reggio Calabria Photography agency. A team of around ten photographers and assistants working on commercial, editorial and event commissions; ran alongside the personal studio, which continues.
